It was confirmed in late May 2024, that Cornwall-born prop Ollie Andrews had signed a contract for the 2024/25 season.
Having first started playing rugby aged 5 at Polwhele House School, Ollie later attended Truro School and played at Truro RFC. He was a member of the Exeter Chiefs Academy before then going to Cardiff Metropolitan University where he studied Sport and Exercise Science.
It was during his time at Cardiff ‘Met’ that Ollie played in the ‘A’ league for Welsh regional team Dragons, besides being selected for England Students. Noticed also by Coventry, he spent two seasons at the Butts Park Arena before signing for the Cornish Pirates and returning to his home county.
When growing up, Ollie’s parents were a massive influence on his career, as they gave him the opportunity to go all over the south-west to play rugby and made sure he was at training on time and with all the right kit. On the pitch John Harding and Jim Mathews were his first influential rugby coaches, as was later the Director of Rugby at Truro School, Graham Whitmore, whose support was massive.
Being from a farming background, away from rugby Ollie’s interests have been in all things farming, and he runs his own small beef herd on the family farm.
