Born to a Navy family but a stone’s throw from the Mennaye Field, Penzance, (in Bolitho maternity ward), Lee’s secondary education was at a school in Newquay, which led to him playing for Newquay Hornets and then as an adult at Truro.
A qualified primary school teacher, his coaching journey started over 10 years ago, during which certain highlights include running ‘Rugbytots’ in Cornwall (2014 –2021), and managing the O2 touch project at Truro (2014-2020). As for his proudest rugby moment, that was receiving a royal invite from the Queen in 2015 to attend a dinner at Buckingham Palace in recognition of his voluntary work on the O2 Touch project.
Working initially part time hours with the Cornish Pirates from the summer of 2019, until going full time at the start of 2024, Lee currently lives near St Austell with his partner Emma and their young son, who plays youth rugby for the ‘Saints’. The family lives near St. Austell, and together they enjoy the beauty that Cornwall has to offer. Oh, and Lee, at his own admission, is something of a coffee addict!
