It was confirmed in September 2024 that Irishman Eoin had joined the Cornish Pirates on loan from Exeter Chiefs.
Prior to having joined the Devon side in 2023, Eoin had enjoyed four years at Munster where he learned an incredible amount from coaches and players, including such as Tadhg Beirne, RG Snyman, and Peter O’Mahony. He also made appearances for the province in both the United Rugby Championship and the Heineken Champions Cup.
Eoin first played rugby, aged 7, for Waterpark RFC in Waterford. He was educated at Gaelcholaiste Phort Lairge and Yeats College in Waterford (moving to ‘Yeats’ for his final two years) and when arriving at the Pirates was a student in the University of Limerick, doing a business degree in Economics and Finance
Biggest influences have been Eoin’s parents Kay and John. They are his biggest supporters, about whom he feels he wouldn’t be where he is today without them.
When growing up Eoin played lots of sports but mainly traditional Irish GAA sports of Hurling and Gaelic Football – his grandfather Phil Grimes was County Waterford’s most decorated Hurler. As for hobbies and interests he loves playing golf, is quite into cars, and likes reading. Oh, and in his own words he is also “a bit of a movie nerd!”
