Charlie is dual registered with the Cornish Pirates from Exeter Chiefs.

Now into his third season with the Chiefs, the talented young centre is another product of the club’s successful Academy set-up.

Having initially started playing rugby as a six-year-old at Sidmouth RFC, the young back worked his way up through the age groups before eventually coming onto the radar of the Chiefs through their Developing Player Programme (DPP). The coaches liked what they saw of Charlie, who was previously educated at Perrott Hill and then Sherborne School, and using the club’s strong links with the University of Exeter, he continued his role with Chiefs with that of studying for a degree in Liberal Arts.

One of Charlie’s playing highlights included in 2022 being part of the highly successful University of Exeter First XV, when they lifted the BUCS title with victory over Durham at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium. Also, throughout he has always appreciated the support of his parents, who have been the biggest influence on his career, taking him to training and encouraging him to pursue his dreams.

Away from rugby Charlie has thrown the javelin at national standard, played cricket at first team level, plus he enjoys a little golf when time permits. Oh, and he also likes to strum the guitar, though in his own words “Nothing that impressive!”
