This Sunday, the 23rd. April, will see Penzance & Newlyn RFC’s under 15s play Redruth at St. Austell in this season’s under 15s County Final (ko 3pm).
Olly White has been forced to quit playing the game because of a serious knee injury.
The Pirates have been saddened to hear that former player Roger Roberts passed away on Friday.

A match day collection held at the recent Cornish Pirates versus Coventry game helped raise the very worthy sum of £583-39 for the RSPCA Cornwall Branch.
The Pirates of Penzance & Newlyn RFC and the Cornish Pirates have always been fortunate for the support given them by cherished volunteers, whose input in a variety of ways over the years has been truly incredible.

Having completed their Pool games unbeaten in this season’s Championship Cup, as the highest-ranking club the Cornish Pirates will play fourth ranked Jersey Reds at the Mennaye Field in the semi-final, with the contest now confirmed for Friday 5th May, kick-off at 7.30pm.
Following the conclusion of the pool rounds of The Championship Cup, we can now confirm the semi-finals.
A match day collection held at the Mennaye Field when the Cornish Pirates played Caldy last Saturday raised £432-55 for Cornwall Hospice Care.
Cornish Pirates’ supporters will be looking forward to this Saturday’s Round 5 game in the Championship Cup (ko 2.30pm), because a victory would assure a semi-final place for the team. Having said that, we expect nothing less than a tough contest. The sides have already met twice this season, with both games played at Caldy’s Paton Field ground. The Pirates won 26-7 in the Cup last November, before in December snow they lost 15-14 in the league.
Following their annual match day collection held when the Cornish Pirates recently played Jersey Reds at the Mennaye Field, it has since been confirmed that the magnificent sum of £694-35 was raised.
As previously mentioned, for Cornish Pirates’ long serving stalwart prop forward Jack Andrew, this season is a Testimonial one, and reference the same a gathering comprising 160 people, made up of playing colleagues past and present, club officials, partners and friends attended his Testimonial Dinner held at the Penventon Park Hotel at Redruth on Saturday evening.
Having impressively won our opening block of three Championship Cup games played in November, it’s a return to Cup action this weekend when in Round 4 on Saturday the Cornish Pirates will welcome Richmond to the Mennaye Field (ko 2.30pm).
The Cornish Pirates can confirm that wing Callum Sirker has amicably departed the club ahead of going to Sydney in Australia where he has been offered a place as a graduate solicitor in one of the country’s top legal firms.
This Saturday will see the Cornish Pirates welcome Jersey Reds to the Mennaye Field for a Round 14 game in the RFU Championship. The seventh versus second contest kicks off at 2.30pm.
