Pirates Welcome Ealing as League Action Returns
Having successfully completed their first block of three Championship Cup games, the Cornish Pirates return to league action this Saturday when present unbeaten league leaders Ealing Trailfinders visit the Mennaye Field for a 2.30pm kick-off.
This will be a 7th versus 1st clash in the RFU Championship, and clearly one not to be missed a big crowd is inevitably expected at the Mennaye Field.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s fixture, Cornish Pirates’ coach Louie Tonkin has commented:
“We were very happy how the boys worked hard during the recent first block of Cup matches, when we strived to improve on certain fundamentals of our game. It was also very pleasing to see lads take their chances and put hands up for selection, which is always a good problem to have.”
“The visit of unbeaten Ealing is, of course, a huge challenge, although one that is also exciting for our team and supporters. We have no illusions that they have a very strong side, but we back ourselves at home on the Mennaye and with a good training week will give it a crack and do what we can to get the result.”
