Next up for the Cornish Pirates is a 2nd versus 6th Championship contest, away on Saturday against Bedford Blues (ko 3pm).
Matches against the Blues always provide a challenge, theirs being a team that demands respect, with an inevitable tough encounter expected against them at Goldington Road this weekend.
The Pirates line-up make just a single change in their starting XV from the one that faced London Scottish at home last Friday. Then replacement Billy Young is named at loose-head prop and his place on the bench is taken by fit again prop James French. For wing Arthur Relton the match will also proudly mark his 50th appearance for the club.
Ahead of the match, Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver has commented:
“We know what to expect when going to Bedford, as they are a great side, one well coached, and with a great identity in the way they play. Also experienced, they are in the top two for a reason and we respect them.
“As ever, ahead of the contest there are certain aspects of our game that we will and have been working on, which we feel are important and need just to polish up.
“The fixture is often high scoring and often exciting, but if we turn up with the right attitude it is a place where we have won before.”
