The Cornish Pirates are next in action away to Bedford Blues on Saturday (ko 3pm).
This will be a fourth versus seventh in the league clash at Goldington Road, with the Blues presently unbeaten at home in the Championship this season and having won 41-21 when the two teams met at the Mennaye Field in September.
Fly-half Arwel Robson returns to the starting line-up for the Cornish Pirates, as does tight-head prop Matt Johnson and number 8 Rusiate Tuima, whose inclusion sees Seb Nagle-Taylor switch to blindside flanker and fellow backrower Alex Everett named in the ‘7’ shirt. For full-back Will Trewin, who has impressed in his appearances to date, it will be his first start in the league.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s inevitably tough contest, Cornish Pirates’ coach Louie Tonkin has said:
“Goldington Road is a tough place to go and against a Blues team that is in good form and is well placed in the league.
“Unbeaten at home this season they have every reason to feel confident at present and it will naturally be a difficult challenge. Having said that, after performing pretty well these past couple of weeks we are excited and in buoyant mood, and if we get the key factors right then it should make for a very good game.”
