The Cornish Pirates confirms that Truro & Penwith College have extended their outstanding support of the club, having signed a contract to the end of May 2022.
The Cornish Pirates and the College have worked closely together during the past decade, both proud of their achievements and with a hunger to progress still further.
This ongoing sponsorship agreement with the Cornish Pirates also includes proudly maintaining the name Truro & Penwith College grandstand at the Mennaye Field, Penzance, as well as sponsoring the team’s home and away shirts. It is also remembered that that pair are partners in the Stadium for Cornwall project, who have worked energetically together with the aim to deliver such a facility.
Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas commented:
Our partnership with Truro and Penwith College goes back many years and to extend that until 2022 further cements our close relationship and mutual drive to develop sport both professionally and as part of the community in Cornwall.
To have their continued support as key sponsors, especially through these uncertain times is hugely valued.
Matt Bond, Head of Marketing and Communications at Truro and Penwith College, said:
Truro and Penwith College has long been a supporter of the Cornish Pirates and is excited and proud to confirm the extension of our sponsorship until 2022. It has been an extraordinary year for everyone at the Club but we are proud at the College to support the continuation and development of professional sport in Cornwall.
The College works closely with the Cornish Pirates on a number of initiatives designed to improve participation in sport for our students and to provide pathways into professional sport for those who choose to excel.
This extended sponsorship is a strong signal of support for the vision of the Cornish Pirates and all that we as partners hope to achieve for years to come.
