The Cornish Pirates were recently very keen to welcome representatives from the Renal Unit at Treliske Hospital to a match at the Mennaye Field.
Taking the lead at the end of Cornwall Live Kidney Donor Awareness Week were Live Donor Transplant Specialist Nurse Angela Fordham and Liver Transplant Donor Administrator Laura Jackson, who with colleagues distributed leaflets to help raise important profile.
Laura has since commented:
We finished our Cornwall Live Kidney Donor Awareness Week with a visit to the Cornish Pirates home match where we were warmly welcomed and very grateful for their support.
Speaking to supporters in the marquee and about the ground we were able to provide them with extra information about our campaign, and especially with refence to joining the organ donor register.
“We were also told to enjoy the rugby, and we most certainly did – as the Pirates won 18-15 against Bedford Blues.”
Anyone who wants to consider being a kidney donor should contact Angela Fordham at [email protected] or by telephoning 01872 252292.
Receiving a request for coach parking facilities, the Pirates were more than happy to assist our good friends from Exeter Chiefs this past couple of days.
Meet the Players Evening - Club and Vice-Captain for the forthcoming season plus Dual Registered players will also be announced.
The Cornish Pirates are pleased to announce that Bodmin-based Glass Railing Specialists ‘Pure Vista’ have been confirmed both as a shirt and player sponsor for the 2021/22 season.
