Sincere Thanks Expressed to Robyn

Following recent news confirming that after six years much respected Cornish Pirates’ squad member Will Cargill was leaving the club, it was inevitable further news would also confirm that his partner and wife-to-be Robyn Ashurst is to join him.

Working for the Cornish Pirates since December 2016, Robyn has been a fully committed and very able staff member in charge of hospitality, sponsorship, advertising, the website, social media and all things sales and marketing.  All to have met her will have been impressed by the level of commitment and passion she has shown and will be aware too of how much she will be missed.

Speaking on behalf of the Cornish Pirates, CEO Rebecca Thomas said:

Robyn is going to be missed tremendously by all involved with the Pirates. She has been a huge asset over her time with us and has helped raise our social profile and brand marketing throughout this time. Robyn and Will have fully embraced Cornish life from the outset and will always be welcome back as part of the Pirates family. They have become great friends as well as colleagues and I wish them all the best in their next chapter back in Cheshire.

Born and raised in the North West of England, Robyn has accepted a role to work for a family friend’s business in Cheshire, while she and Will plan to live in Will’s hometown of Sandbach.

Commenting ahead of their departure, Robyn has commented:

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Cornwall and more so my time working at The Cornish Pirates. It is such an amazing club, and everyone top to bottom gives 100% to make the club the incredible place it is.
A massive thank you to Dicky Evans and Becki Thomas, both have been incredible to work for and have gone above and beyond for both of us during our time here.
All the Pirates colleagues have become friends and I will no doubt be back to visit as often as I can. A big thank you to everyone who has made our time here so special, and I must show my appreciation to Nick, Anita and Mark George for everything they have done for myself and Will over the last six years. Ever up in Cheshire – give us a shout!
