All involved with Penzance & Newlyn RFC and the Cornish Pirates will be saddened to hear news that one of the club’s true stalwarts, Dave Trembath, has passed away.
A retired Police officer, Dave had all but a lifelong association with the Pirates. He played for the Mount’s Bay Colts side back in the late 1960s, then Penzance & Newlyn RFC, and for the Police.
Deservedly elected a Vice-President of Penzance & Newlyn RFC, the honour recognising his immense voluntary contribution, and in a variety of ways, Dave was also the Clubman of the Year award winner in 1995.
Always helpful, he in the past assisted with Sundry Sales, was a Steward and then Safety Officer, and more recently did immense work as a member of the club’s volunteer ground staff. The Pirates Amateurs also greatly appreciated him being their match day PA System announcer.
Condolences are expressed to Dave’s partner Wendy and all family members.
A further update will follow.
