Leaving the Cornish Pirates for a change point in his career, Sam Coogan has expressed sincere appreciation to the club for aiding his personal development.
Sam started working for the Cornish Pirates in 2017 as a Strength and Conditioning intern, under the title Junior Strength and Conditioning Coach. He then worked from 2018-2021 as full-time 1st team Strength and Conditioning Coach.
A change of working role has seen Sam accept a position with a company named ‘The Sports Project’, where he will be coaching multiple sports and helping develop the physical education for primary students. Based in Cornwall, he will be working at schools predominantly west of Truro.
On his departure, Sam commented:
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Cornish Pirates for the past four years, working and developing alongside a great group of hardworking coaches.
Now looking forward to see how the club, players and coaches progress in the future, I will always hold the team in high regard and wish everyone involved all the best for the forthcoming season.
