Cornish Pirates players Maliq Holden and Kyle Moyle have recently accompanied Community Engagement Manager Sam Teasdale in leading another successful ‘SurviveAlive’ event at Great Work Mine near Helston.
Participating in an all-inclusive afternoon of rugby the interactive games proved competitive, but also importantly fun, for the two groups youngsters who were present. Plus, once again, rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship shone through at this now annual event.
It was back in 1997 that Derek Thomas, MP for West Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly, set up SurviveAlive, which is an outdoor adventure project for young people from across West Cornwall.
Following this most recent event, Derek commented:
It was great to have members of the Cornish Pirates return to Survivealive Outdoor Adventure Camp once again. The activity is popular with our young people and the players are great at getting them involved and active.
