As part of their growing Community involvement, representatives of the Cornish Pirates are looking forward to visiting St. Columba & Torpoint RFC’s youth section on Sunday the 1st September.
On a day when everyone is welcome to pitch up and play fun tag rugby, there will be a chance to meet the Cornish Pirates famous mascot, Captain Benbow, plus an opportunity – from 11am – 12 noon – to view the exclusive new plans for ‘The SE Cornwall Sports Academy’.
Robbie Ryder, Chairman of St. Columba & Torpoint RFC’s youth section has commented:
As Youth Chairman of an expanding grassroots rugby club, we are very excited and looking forward to the Pirates visiting our youth section on the 1st of September – senior clubs visiting junior clubs in our county can only be good for our beloved game.
The Club Secretary, Paul Stentiford, also said:
Over the past few seasons St. Columba & Torpoint RFC have been working closely with the Cornish Pirates to help raise the knowledge, understanding and ethos of rugby in the county. The Pirates are very much the beating heart of Cornish Rugby and therefore we are hoping to emulate them and become the beating heart of our local community.
