Easter Community Update

Recent weeks have enabled the Cornish Pirates to restart their community programmes. In the words of Community Engagement Manager Sam Teasdale “It is great to be back!”

From the 8th of March, schools who experienced a fabulous four week block of sessions were Kehelland Village School, Penponds Community Primary School, Grampound Road Village CofE School, Blackwater Community Primary School, Mawgan-in-Pydar Primary School, St. Wenn School, St. Meriadoc CofE Junior Academy, Crowan Primary School, Pennoweth Primary School, and Bugle School
Sam, also commented:

A huge ‘well done’ to all of the children involved and thanks to the school staff for ensuring a safe return!

Following the Easter break the Cornish Pirates community team look forward to starting the Summer Term ‘1’ programme with Penpol School, Bodriggy Academy, Roskear Primary and Nursery School, St. Erth School, Mount Charles School, Veryan CofE Primary School, Nancledra School, St. Uny CofE Academy, Pencoys Primary School and Carclaze Community Primary School. All are ready and raring to go!

A cracking Coaching Clinic last Friday morning saw a very enthusiastic group of 30 x U8/9/10s go through various games and activities at Hayle RFC. Cornish Pirates players Antonio Kiri Kiri and Marlen Walker were in attendance to pass on some expertise (especially the Rugby Dodgeball!).

Then, in the afternoon, players Antonio Kiri Kiri (again) and Maliq Holden led the games for 30 x U11/12/13s, which included an extremely competitive passing challenge!

Now looking forward to the summer, some exciting new programmes will be coming soon….alongside various other summer provision such as camps, coaching clinics and masterclasses.

Keep an eye out on Cornish Pirates in the Community Facebook page for more regular updates, whilst for the immediate present also remember to check the excellent progress being made by the ‘A Million Metres’ challenge team. For more details please link to:
