Following the funeral, Family have invited all to then gather at the Pirates ‘Westholme’ clubhouse.
Everyone involved with Penzance & Newlyn RFC and the Cornish Pirates were saddened to hear news that Dave, one of the club’s true stalwarts, had passed away. He was aged 69.
A retired Police officer, Dave had all but a lifelong association with the Pirates. He played for the Mount’s Bay Colts side back in the 1960s, then Penzance & Newlyn RFC, and for the Police.
Always helpful, he in the past assisted with Sundry Sales, was a Steward and then Safety Officer, and more recently did immense work as a member of the club’s volunteer ground staff.
The Pirates Amateurs also greatly appreciated him being their match day PA System announcer.
Dave was also honoured to be a Vice-President of Penzance & Newlyn RFC.
A Cornish Pirates contingent comprising Dicky Evans, Graham and Lee Stone and Jack and Birgitta Richards were given the warmest of welcomes last weekend.
