Both players and the weather delivered when the last ‘Cornish Pirates in the Community’ Primary Festival of the school year took place at Helston Community College on Friday.
The schools participating and demonstrating their skills in an exciting and also highly competitive Festival were Perran-Ar-Worthal Community Primary School, Mawnan C of E Primary School, Wendron C of E Primary School, St Michael’s C of E Primary School, St Just Primary School, Marazion Primary School, Pensans Community Primary School and Newlyn Primary School.
The PE Co-ordinator from Perran-Ar-Worthal School said:
What a super day for everyone – fun in the sun and free flowing rugby, a great way to end a hectic term!
Cornish Pirates’ Community Engagement Manager, Sam Teasdale, commented:
It was an excellent day with a big thank-you to all the teachers and pupils who helped make it such a positive environment!
Special words of thanks are due members of Helston Community College for their support throughout the day, with important contributions from the Sports Leaders and Miss Treloar in particular.
Sam added:
Considering the Stadium for Cornwall news and, in an outreach context, other significant developments, the success of this Summer Festival was also fitting during what has been an exciting year.
