Participating in the latest Cornish Pirates Community Festival, children from Goonhavern Primary School, Pondhu Primary School, Grampound Road Village CE School, Grampound with Creed Primary School, St Mewan Primary School, The Bishops C of E Learning Academy, Pennoweth Primary School and Threemilestone Primary School have this week experienced a marvellous afternoon of rugby hosted by Richard Lander School.
As ever, there was no lack of enthusiasm and enjoyment on display, ‘high spirits’ perhaps boosted still further on this occasion following two impressive performances from the Pirates and England over the weekend.
Sam Teasdale, Community Engagement Manager noted:
The festival days are a great opportunity for the children to display their skills in an enjoyable and positive environment, with thanks also to everyone at Richard Lander for their assistance on the day. They are all a real credit to their school.
Cornish Pirates player Tom Channon, commented:
It was a really enjoyable event for the enthusiastic youngsters to participate in. To their credit they also played some excellent rugby – and in the right spirit.
