Budding rugby players from Falmouth under 8s lapped up the atmosphere when attending the recent Cornish Pirates versus Richmond game.
Besides witnessing an entertaining contest, when the Pirates won 51-20, the youngsters formed the ‘Guard of Honour’ just ahead of kick-off, plus they played a half-time exhibition of mini-rugby. Two of their contingent, Conan and Toby, also had the bonus of being match day mascots who ran out with Cornish Pirates’ skipper Nicolas De Battista and player Matt Evans.
Contacting the Pirates since, Melody Hitchens representing Falmouth under 8s commented:
Our under 8s thoroughly enjoyed their day, which truly lived up to their high expectations!
The weather was fantastic and there was some superb running rugby on show, whilst it was also great for the children to be able to bond as a team and create memories they will be able to share for a long time.
Melody added:
We were all proud to represent Falmouth Rugby Club and would like to thank the Pirates for providing an excellent match day experience!
