Camborne/Pool/Redruth Schools Rugby Coaching

Children from schools in the Camborne/Pool/Redruth area have been taking part in an exciting new rugby programme provided by the Cornish Pirates.

Following a first two weeks of coaching, Cornish Pirates' Community Manager Sam Teasdale was delighted to report, "It has been a great opening few weeks, the schools have been more than welcoming and the children have fully engaged in everything we have done. We are really looking forward to seeing the children progress and demonstrate their new skills in a festival to be held in June."

Gill Willsher the Headteacher of St. Day and Carharrack Community Primary School said, "It is a great opportunity for the children to experience and enjoy rugby, whilst the excellent high quality training is giving the teachers the skills and confidence to enhance their own coaching abilities. The children are really motivated by the rugby session each week.”

The schools involved are: St Meriadoc C. of E. Junior Academy, Roskear Primary, St. John the Baptist Primary, Weeth Community Primary, Pennoweth Primary, Treleigh Community Primary, St. Day and Carharrack Community School, Illogan School and Portreath Community Primary.

The festival will be held at Redruth School on the 9th of June, when all parents, friends and families are welcome!
