Cambridge Blue Toby May Signs On Board

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s capture of Canadian International lock Brett Beukeboom, we are delighted to announce the signing of Cambridge Blue Toby May on a two-year contract.

Full-back/centre Toby May, aged 26 has appeared for Cambridge University in the last two ‘Varsity’ matches and played senior rugby for Westcombe Park and Kent.

Prior to his Masters at St Edmund's College Cambridge, he was at Bath University where he played for the university side and was a member of the England Students Development squad under the watchful eye of respected Head Coach Aaron James.

Also whilst at Bath he started playing National League rugby with Westcombe Park, who were in N2S at the time.

Speaking to the Cambridge News on his time at Westcombe Park, he said: "It was when Ealing and Jersey were in the league so it was a good experience, it's really helped my game, playing men's rugby that young, at 21."

Welcoming Toby on board, Cornish Pirates Director of Rugby, Ian Davies, said: Toby impressed us when we met up with him back in February. Obviously an intelligent guy but he spoke passionately of his desire of progressing as a rugby player.

Then after watching him play and receiving a glowing reference from Aaron James we knew Toby would add to the depth for next season."
