Richard Lane & Will Homer Sign on DR With Bath

The Pirates have boosted the squad this week with the signing of Richard Lane & Will Homer on dual-registration with Bath Rugby.

Wing/full-back Richard Lane (above), aged 21, started training with the club on Tuesday, whilst 18-year-old scrum-half Will Homer is expected to head to West Cornwall next week.

Bedford-born Lane played his early rugby for Bedford Junior Blues before going to Millfield School where he captained the under 16s Sevens team that won the Rosslyn Park National Schools title and the All England Sevens.

He has also experienced rugby 'down under', having enjoyed a spell with Sydney University Football Club where he featured mainly as a full-back.

Homer, who was born in Winchester and educated at Sherborne School, has also been a Bath Rugby age group player for five seasons. International honours have seen him play for England at both under 16s and under 18s level.

Welcoming the dual-registered duo, the Cornish Pirates Director of Rugby, Ian Davies, commented:

“With the number of long term injuries we’ve picked up we are grateful to Bath Rugby in dual registering these two lads.

Richard was going to be with us last season but paperwork held it up. We look forward to them both adding quality to our squad.”
