Ben Prescott - PropAlthough born in Tripoli, Libya, Ben's actual home base in his youth was Aberdeen.

Ben's father John, who played rugby in the Midland Counties alongside former Bedford and England scrum-half Jacko Page, worked for the Baker Hughes oil services company.

Libya, including Australia, Indonesia, Egypt, and Holland, was just one of many countries where Ben and his parents, along with his brother and sister, lived for short periods of time.

Following the path of numerous royals, Ben attended Gordonstoun boarding school in Moray, Scotland and played rugby for Scotland Under 18s.

On leaving Gordonstoun he chose to play for Aberdeen GS, studying Sports Science, first at Edinburgh and then Aberdeen University.

In 2005, Ben's consistent performances led him to Glasgow Warriors, where he appeared in the Magners League and Heineken Cup.

In 2006/07, whilst recovering from a calf injury he had a loan spell at Waterloo. He then played a couple of seasons at Rotherham Titans before signing for Nottingham.

Overcoming a number of injuries, his performances caught the attention of Leinster, where he had a brief spell before returning to England to play for Northampton Saints.

Initially putting pen to paper in 2010 on a short-term deal at Franklin's Gardens, Ben then signed a full-time contract and made appearances in the A league and LV Cup.

Having spent the 2011-12 season back at Nottingham, Ben signed for us in May 2012 and his considerable experience was expected to improve the Pirates scrum still further.
