Rugby clubs all over the country rely on voluntary support, and in such regard the Pirates have been most fortunate.
The deeds of so many worthy individuals have in the past been highlighted during the club’s history, and one person most deserving of extra mention is Ann Tucker.
Ann is not only a stalwart supporter during the season, but she is also one of those lesser in number volunteers who provides input to raise monies throughout the year. Indeed, confirming a tremendous record of service, for a quarter of century Ann has organised the weekly Car Boot Sales that – weather permitting! - take place in the club’s main car park every Thursday from April to September.
Assisting Ann at the outset was Carmen Staines, whilst help also came from Mary Hoare. Others offering support have included Norma Matthews and Ann Richards, plus the always committed duo of Jackie and Ricky Ninnis.
Clearly the input given by Ann and her colleagues has been of tremendous help, all for the benefit of the Pirates. It is to be very much appreciated.
