Above: Matt Cannell using his hoody to keep an injured porpoise calf afloat
Matt told us: As a proud Cornishman living in Wales, I am regularly seen wearing my pirates shirt or jacket.
However, last Sunday after walking on the beach getting rid off a sore head following Saturday’s game against Aberavon, I came across a porpoise calf, stranded and injured. All I had with me to keep it afloat until the coastguard arrived was my pirates hoody.
4 and a half hours later, the calf was treated and had recovered enough to swim off, and left me with a proud, if not soaked, pirates hoody.
