Thanks to Anita, Peter and Nick George plus the staff at the Logan Rock Inn, the boys were treated to an ‘Awesome’ Christmas lunch yesterday.
On an occasion where Christmas jumpers were worn, players and support staff thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Indeed, hooker Elloway said it was “awesome!”
The ‘George’ family have – not forgetting Mark at the Yacht Inn – been stalwart supporters not just of the Pirates but also sport in Cornwall generally for many years, and this was yet again a typical display of generosity and kindness shown.
The Logan Rock Inn also sponsor coaches Alan Paver & Gavin Cattle.
The award winning Logan Rock Inn is a 16th century traditional village pub serving a variety of real ales and excellent home cooked food.
The Logan Rock Inn is named after the famous Logan Rock which stands a short walk away from the picturesque village of Treen.
The Rock was balanced precariously on the cliffs overlooking Pednvounder Beach and Porthcurno Beach, it was famed for its ability to rock back and forth on the cliff top with the slightest touch.
However the rock was dislodged by a group of seamen in 1824, they were forced to reposition the rock by the locals to whom it had become a tourist draw. After repositioning the easily rocking nature was lost and in the present day it takes much more force to move the 80 tone rock.
The pub houses many historical pieces relating to the Logan Rock and surrounding area. Boasting a great position just of the coast path the Logan Rock Inn is a great starting, end, or stop off point on a number of walks
