Dave Ward - who left to join Harlequins in 2012 - has been back at the Mennaye Field this week and helping out with the first week of pre-season training
Wardy – who also coaches Guildford - has been staying with good friend and current Pirates player coach Alan Paver.
As well as bringing the know-how of a proven Premiership player to the Pirates training ground, he has also gained personally as a developing coach keen to maintain a pathway for his Continuous Personal Development (CPD).
During his time London, the former Pirates favourite has won numerous man-of-the-match awards for the Quins.
He has also played for England Saxons, and whilst touring with the senior England team to New Zealand in 2014 made an appearance against the Crusaders, which England won 38-7.
