WE are extremely pleased to announce our first new player signing for next season, as Cornish prop Christian Judge signs from Bedford Blues on a two year contract.
A regular performer for Bedford Blues this season, Christian is well known in Cornwall having been a member of the Cornwall County Championship winning side in both 2015 and 2016.
Prior to his move to Bedford, he spent the 2015/16 season with Plymouth Albion where he was a standout prop in National One and was selected to play for England Counties.
“Having grown up in Cornwall this is a truly exciting opportunity” said an excited Christian.
“The Cornish Pirates are recognised as an iconic team and it provides a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my game with the support of Alan Paver and Gavin Cattle.”
“It's also been a great privilege to be a part of Bedford Blues this season and I'm hugely thankful to both the club and the supporters for the opportunities I've been given over the course of this year.”
Growing up in Cornwall, Christian joined Launceston at the age of eight and progressed to play for their senior side the Cornish All Blacks in National Two
Looking forward to welcoming another Cornish Prop to the Mennaye, Coach Alan Paver told us: “Christian is a young Cornish prop that we’ve been keeping an eye on in recent seasons.
“He’s a very promising player who has started to make his mark and is capable of developing still further and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
