British & Irish Cup Quarter Finals Draw

Yesterday’s draw for the British & Irish Cup quarter finals is a popular one with Cornish Pirates followers as it sees us taking another trip across the channel to Jersey.

“Whoever we were drawn against in the quarter-final we knew it would be a competitive fixture, but this one has additional interest as the week before we play Jersey Reds at home in the Championship”, said Coach Gavin Cattle who expected nothing less than a challenging quarter-final tie.

“There have been some fantastic and closely fought contests against Jersey in the last couple of years, as was the case earlier this season when we lost 27-24 away.

For both teams, however, a lot has happened since and the sides have developed in different ways, so the double-header games in the league and Cup will provide a good measure to see where we are at, with a challenge now to push it to the next level.”

In order of standing,  Munster A, London Irish, Jersey Reds, and Ealing Trailfinders were the Pool stage winners, with the Cornish Pirates, Yorkshire Carnegie, and Ulster A the three best runners-up.
