Promising young Cornish prop Luke Chapman, from the Looe area, joined the Cornish Pirates as part of the Player Development Foundation (PDF).
He recently made his senior debut for Cornwall in this year’s Tamar Cup win against Devon, and has played senior rugby for Exmouth, Plymouth Albion and the Cornish All Blacks.
He has also trained with the Pirates, and featured as a replacement in a friendly match played at Torquay against Bath University.
At the Cornish All Blacks last season he featured in all 30 National Two league games, it was to be a very tough season but one that proved invaluable scrummaging against some very experienced players.
A young player with the potential to develop and progress in the game, Luke looks to have a bright future, as Cornish Pirates’ Player/Coach Alan Paver explained:
“Luke has trained with us once week throughout the past season and has shown a cracking attitude.
With him joining the PDF on a full time basis it now means he can develop his all round game including a lot of hard work with Francis and the Strength & Conditioning team.
