Phil Westren's Preview

It is fourth versus seventh this Sunday when the Cornish Pirates play Doncaster Knights away in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Sky television will be covering the game at Donny’s Castle Park ground, where the kick-off is at 2pm.

The Cornish Pirates side shows a number of changes from the one that started against London Irish last weekend, with five players who appeared as replacements in that match selected in this week’s starting XV. In the backs, Tom Hendrickson is named to partner Alex Dancer in the centre, whilst Laurence May and Stuart Townsend will form the half-back pairing. The two other changes are in the pack, where Jake Parker is selected in the second-row and Sam Simmonds at flanker.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game, Cornish Pirates’ co-coach Alan Paver has commented:

“We know that Sunday will be another big arm wrestle against a Doncaster side that has been very strong these past couple of years. It will also be important for us to stay more disciplined.

“All northern sides hold pride on their set piece, which is an area where we can expect a huge battle between the two packs. Yes, it’ll be tough, but also exciting to play in front of the Sky television cameras.”
