Carnegie's charabanc, may well be filled the aroma of a certain brand of pizza named after an 'old mans' pub game - but any feasting to savour their unbeaten start to the season, will certainly be tempered in the knowledge that they'd been pushed hard to earn any extra pepperoni topping.
From a Pirates perspective - it was a case of “if only for another minute or so longer”- which may (or may not) have rewarded a swashbuckling performance with at least a couple more league points than the solitary losing one, they had to settle for. But we'll have to draw a veil over that – and assume that there was some extra vigour and feeling, incorporated into the Cadgwith Singers' post match rendition of Grandfathers Clock, instead. If you get my drift...
The vibe post match however, was rightfully positive – and despite being denied the grandstand finish, that had looked increasingly possible – from the moment Alex Dancer...well...danced through a static looking Yorkshire defence on the hour.
