Pirates U7s Match Day Experience

Players from the Pirates under 7s thoroughly enjoyed their Cornish Pirates Match Day Experience when we played London Welsh last Sunday.

Youth participation is a regular feature of Pirates Match Day and at last Sunsday’s match the young players were the centre of attention as they formed the flag waving tunnel for the players to run through on to the pitch.

Jasper, Kai and Kayden - the match day mascots

For Jasper, Kai and Kayden - the match day mascots – it was a particularly memorable occasion  as they ran out with players Matt Evans and skipper Tom Duncan.

As a possible sign of things to come’ the son of former Pirates favourite Rhodri McAtee - who helps coach the Pirates under 7s - made his Mennaye debut in the tag display

Thanking us for arranging the Match Day Experince, Rhodri said: “The boys all had a great time and the experience will hopefully keep them very much interested in rugby moving forward! “

If your club or school would like to participate in a match day experience, just drop Phil Westren an e-mail to phil.westren@cornish-pirates.com and set the wheels in motion.
